Description
Bachs harpsichord concertos were actually his own arrangements of concertos written by others for violin and for oboe. Barenreiters Urtext edition of the Concerto in G-minor for violin and piano is a reconstruction from Bachs harpsichord arrangement, BWV 1056. Based on the original manuscript of the harpsichord arrangement, which contains clear notes on Bachs own transcription methods, providing clear evidence that Bachs own violin arrangement once existed.
