He was co-author with his wife, the renowned violinist and teacher Shirley Givens, of her highly successful Adventures in Violinland, which has reached a staggering 24 volumes. Throughout the years, Harry Wimmer’s companion method, Adventures in Cello Country, has been honed by succeeding generations of young cellists. Now he has finally been persuaded to send these books out into the world, in the hope that they will fall into the hands of new bright-eyed young cellists.
Book 1A: The Beginning teaches comfortable sitting and holding of the cello. The high and low sounds of the 4 cello strings are explored. Simple pizzicato songs are introduced.
